1. Introductory notes

Welcome to the Hungarian Assyriological Review website! This website (the “Site”) is operated by the Editorial Board of the Hungarian Assyriological Review (“HAR” “We,” or “Us”). The journal is published by Gábor Kalla. Our office is registered at Múzeum Krt 4/B, Budapest H-1088, Hungary. References to “you” or “your” shall be taken as references to users of the Site.

Please read these terms and conditions to ensure that you understand and agree to them, as they contain the legal terms and conditions that you are deemed to have agreed to whenever you use the Site. If you do not accept these terms and conditions you should not use this Site.

Please be aware of the fact that additional terms and conditions may apply to specific sections of the Site.

The purpose of this Site is to publish our e-journal, Hungarian Assyriological Review (the „journal” or „HAR”) in a platinum Open Access scheme. Other purposes are: to inform you about our journal and our other scientific or publishing activities and to share information about Assyriology and Near Eastern archaeology in general. All our activities through or in connection with our Site is non-profit, it does not involve purchasing acts or transfer of ownership.

2. Privacy

Your personal information will be used following our Privacy Policy. By using our Site, you consent to such usage and you warrant that all data provided by you is accurate.

3. Availability

Our Site intended to be accessible without interruption, at all times, although we can not guarantee seamless availability. We reserve the right to suspend the Site at any time, without notice or liability. We reserve the right to monitor and limit access to this Site for any person at any time. If you are a person in a jurisdiction in which prohibitions or restraints apply to the information given at our Site, you must not access this Site.

4. Information at the website

We may delete or update any information on the Site, or change anything contained on the Site at any time, without notice and any liability to any person.

We reserve the right to alter these terms and conditions without notice. These modifications take effect once they made publicly available on the Site.

5. Ownership and intellectual property rights

Until we do not state otherwise, we are the owner or the licensee of all copyright or any other intellectual property rights of the Site and its contents (texts, photographs, videos, other multimedia elements, layout elements, and their respective codes).

The Site with its contents is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License. To view a copy of this license, visit http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/. Concerning this license, in particular, you shall not incorporate any material from any part of the Site in any commercial work or publication, whether in hard copy or electronic or any other form, and no part of a page from this Site may be distributed or copied for any commercial purpose.

The scientific studies published in the HAR journal („HAR papers”), with all of their textual and media contents, as well as their supplementary information provided at our Site, are owned by their respective authors under the terms of the Creative Commons various license plans noted individually in the contents themselves. We have a non-exclusive right to publish these contents at our Site.

6. Disclaimer of liability

You shall access and use this Site at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no representations, undertakings, liability, or warranties about:

  • any opinions and views expressed in the HAR papers, as those are the opinions and views of the authors
  • the accuracy, completeness, or suitability for any purpose of the contents expressed in the HAR papers or in the HAR website, including hyperlinks of contents placed in third-party websites, of which we do not have control
  • any losses, actions, claims, proceedings, demands, costs, expenses, damages, and other liabilities whatsoever or howsoever caused arising directly or indirectly in connection with, in relation to, or arising out of the use of the contents of the HAR journal or HAR website

You shall be liable to us for any loss or cost we suffer as a result of your use of this Site or any breach of these terms and conditions.

7. Applicable law

You and we agree to settle amicably any dispute concerning the interpretation or application of these Terms and Conditions and other issues sprouted from the use of the HAR papers or the HAR website. You agree that the courts of Hungary shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms.
